Quickening for fathers

No, I am not talking about bookeeping, I am talking about baby movement. I felt the baby move tonight for the first time. My wife has been aware of it for a while now, but he is getting bigger and stronger and his moving is becoming more noticeable on the outside. I never thought I would ever fixate on baby kicks, but it is my only connect with my son for the moment, so I am happy to feel him move, it makes it feel more real that he is really here and will be greeting my world soon.

Our talented kitty part 2

Here is another shot of Brutus using his paw this time.

Our talented kitty

One of Brutus' many talents, other than string chasing, tripping, cuddling, and many more, is drinking running water out of the sink.  He can do this either licking the water stream directly or by using his paw like a small cup and drinking from his paw.

Quickening

Well this is the time we are supposed to start feeling some quickening. What is exactly is quickening? It is when the baby pushes out and is what most people refer to as kicking. So far, only mom has felt the baby moving, but dad is waiting to feel.

When I was a baby, story has it that I was quite the kicker. So we will see if Keeghan takes after his dad. Keep you all posted!

Keeghan's Second Picture

So here is our new addition.  This is the day we found out we were having a boy.  We were not really wishing for a certain gender, but most of our family made their wishes known.  Either way, we know Keeghan will be loved by all of his eight grandparents.  Just don't spoil him too much!

Welcome to Our World

As you can see our webpage is updated and we have decided to go with a blog format.  We pondered the best way to share our lives with family and friends and we reached the decision to blog.

One reason we chose blogging is so we didn't have to do complete site updates and lose older versions of our site.  We will now have an ongoing journal that can offer the ability to archive to find past events.

We also wanted a webpage that offered the ability to embed code to support YouTube videos and pictures of us and our upcoming new addition to our family.  It is an exciting time and we don't want to lose any memories.

We have chosen to use Blogger, which will support blog entries by both of us, so when busy times come, there are more options for getting information out there.  We also will have the ability to upload remotely via PDA or from any computer with internet access.  We wont miss adding the spur-of-the-moment events that can be captured with a camera phone.

This blog is a work in progress, and we are open to suggestions.  Most of all we want to share our joy with the people we care about the most.  You!
